United Way Days of Caring 2008
September 24th and 27th
Kick-off Rally-Free Breakfast - September 19th
What is Days of Caring?
Days of caring connects volunteers with local nonprofit groups to complete projects that may not otherwise get done. Projects range from painting a mural to building a playground or reading to preschoolers.
This unique event gives employees an opportunity to spend their workday or a Saturday on volunteers projects that make a difference in the lives of children, family and seniors.
Days of Caring also provides a way for companies and groups to develop long-lasting relationships with colleagues and agencies.
Why Should My Company or Group Participate in Days of Caring?
The benefits for volunteer involvement include a bolstering of team spirit among participating employees or other group members. Increase productivity and morale, exposure in the community and a greater understanding of the needs of the community.

PLEASE REMEMBER THOSE
LESS FORTUNATE
As you all know our chapter is very generous throughout the year but especially during the holdiays. We are collecting for the Tucson Diaper Bank and Toys for Tots. Diapers are needed for all ages, including adults and the toys should be unwrapped in order to determine which child it would be best suited for. Thanks to all that brought diaper and toys to the December meeting.
P.S. Don't forget you can always bring business attire donations for "My Sister's Closet" and toiletries for "Tucson Center for Women and Children" They can be brought to any meeting through-out the year.
Now that the temperature is rising and you're staring to move your summer clothes to the front of your closet and your winter clothes to the back, why not take a closer look at your outfits. Did you really wear that skirt and blouse that you used to love last year? Maybe now is the time to sort out your clothes and pick out those that will help someone else increase their professional attire. Bring all those gems to the May meeting and I will pass them along to the women at YWCA;s Your Sister's Closet. They are looking for professional attire to help women entering the work force: dresses, skirts, blouses, pants, etc. Accessories are always helpful as well: purses, shoes, jewerly, belts and scarves. Feel freee to also bring all of those hotel samples that are stashed under your vanity (you know that we all have them!): shampoo, conditioner, lotions, soaps etc and we will pass them along to the Tucson Center for Women and Children to be used by women in shelters escaping domestic violence.
